A family genealogy I've transcribed (we came over in 1642, and have been pretty small beer ever since...)

And just who is this Claud? Demographically: gay male, 44, EuroAmerican (Jewish / Yankee / Danish / Norwegian blend), 6'1" tall, glasses, sundry tattoes and sigils, buzzcut hair (too thinned to grow out), not as gaunt as I used to be. Lived a bunch of places as a little kid. Grew up in & around Boston. Lived in Austin, TX for a year in 82/83. Did 1-1/4 years of college (I was a Sarah Lawrence girl ;>). Bounced between New York City and Boston for some years, until I burned out on NyC and landed in Boston again. Moved to San Francisco in '89, been there since.

First & foremost, I'm a writer. (Tho not young enough to pull off Promising, and not accomplished enough to be more than semi-pro, & then only in a dim light.) Was pretty exclusively a poet until my late 20s, when I started getting serious about short stories and essays. Been writing short horror stories, the last few years. Finally getting to work on the werewolf novel I've been threatening to write for years. A few publications, here & there. Recreationally, I'm an apocalypse maven, aging Bohemian, typing for the lawyers downtown for rent'n'pasta money. Chainsmoker, plus the odd glass of absinthe -- otherwise, my vices are largely historical. Neurotic, sardonic, aim for wit but mostly just a smartass. HIV/HCV/HPV+, but the health is holding. Main occupations are reading, writing, more reading, pessimistic fascination with world events, yet more reading, and futzing on the computer. Still listening to punk rock, with a side of Delta blues. Not much of a hellion, these days (the hangovers last so much longer, now...), but I could still be coaxed into some interesting mayhem.
